Laray Cummings Sr.

Laray Easop Cummings, Sr. was born July 12, 1986 in Jesup, GA to Lamar Attical and Deborah Jackson. Laray was a 2005 graduate of Wayne County Public School System and furthered his education at what was then Altahama Technical College, now known as Coastal Pines, enrolled in the Automotive Technology Program. Laray was employed with Rent A Center for most of his employable years of life as an Account Manager. In his spare time Laray enjoyed fishing, music and was actually a history buff and loved reading but found great joy in spending time with his family. He had a special kind of liking for the Green Bay Packers Football Team.
Laray was a gentle soul with a big heart whose kindness could be felt the moment he entered a room. He was the glue and foundation of his family always lifting others with his positivity, humor and unwavering love. To know Laray was to be touched by kindness. His legacy is one of laughter, compassion, and a light spirit that will continue to live on through all who were blessed to love him.
Laray passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Saint Joseph Hospital in Savannah, GA. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lester Cummings and Mary Anne Bryant and a close friend, Bryan Wallace.
Laray leaves behind a devoted wife of (14) years, Tenesha Mays-Cummings, a devoted father to his children, Maryonna Cummings and Laray Easop Cummings Jr., his mother, Deborah Cummings-Jackson; his father, Lamar Attical; his sister, Roxie Fuller; his brothers, Melvin Jackson, Travis Attical, Isaiah Davis, Martin Powell, Eddie Freeman and godbrother, who was like a brother, Joshua James. He shared a deep and enduring love with his wife, Tenesha, who stood by his side through every chapter of life, as well as a host of devoted aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
There will NOT be a wake/visitation held on Friday; however, his remains will be viewed from 10 am until the time of his graveside service on Saturday, October 18, 2025 (At the cemetery).
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025 @ 11:00 am in Screven Cemetery, 303 Odum Screven Road, Screven, Ga.
We suggest bringing your personal folding chairs for your convenience and comfort, as the chairs provided underneath the tent will be for the immediate family members.
