Chua Nguyen

PEORIA – Chua Nguyen, 87, of Peoria, passed away at 1:10 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born December 31, 1937 in Thuy Nguyen Hai Phong, North Vietnam to Don Van and Hue Thi (Pham) Nguyen. She married Kinh Cung Nguyen on June 20, 1960 in Ba Ria Vungtau, South Vietnam. He preceded her in death on January 11, 2013 in Peoria, IL.
Chua is survived by eight children, Hanh (Tung) Luong of Peoria, IL, Hien (Quang) Nguyen-Ho of Edwards, IL, Benjamin (Lien) Nguyen of Melbourne, FL, Thomas (Oanh) Nguyen of Melbourne, FL, Thanh (Binh) Nguyen of Houston, TX, Linh (Tai) Trinh of Sherman, TX, Sy (Uyen) Nguyen of Peoria, IL and Eric Nguyen of Peoria, IL and eighteen grandchildren.
She was was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Chua was born and raised in Vietnam where she lived for 48 years before relocating to the United States, settling in Peoria where she lived for 34 years. Chua and Kinh were members of Holy Family Catholic Church.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2025 at Holy Family Catholic Church with a visitation from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. at the church. Father Vien Van Do and Father Vincent Ninh Nguyen will officiate. A Mass for the Vietnamese community will be 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at Wright & Salmon Mortuary, with visitation following from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., also at the mortuary, where snacks will be provided. Cremation rites will be accorded following the Mass on Monday.
