Cinda Kay Lizana, a beloved member of the Gulfport community, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on March 16, 1960, in Gulfport, Mississippi, Cinda dedicated 26 years of her life to serving the Harrison County School System, where she made a significant impact on the lives of many students and colleagues.
Cinda was known for her kindness and unwavering support for her family and friends. She is survived by the love of her life of 40 years, John "Wallace" Lizana. Together, they shared a deep bond and cherished the memories they created, particularly enjoying their travels to Gatlinburg, TN, and leisurely cruises. In addition to Wallace, Cinda is survived by her stepson, Jason Lizana; her stepdaughter, Stephanie R. Lizana (Mark); and a granddaughter, Ashleigh Bailes. She also leaves behind her sisters, Anita “Sissy” Hollingsworth (Billy Wayne) and Connie Briscoe; her brother, Billy Gill (Roxane); as well as her sisters-in-law, Helen Jean Husley (Durell) and Joan Lizana; and her brother-in-law, John D. Lizana (Brenda). Numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends hold Cinda's memory dear to their hearts.
Cinda was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd B. Gill and Helen Cospelich; her brother, Floyd "Bubba" Gill; her father-in-law, James M. Lizana; her mother-in-law, Helen R. Lizana; and her brother-in-law, James "Eugene" Lizana.
The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Jalal and his staff, along with Gregory Parker, NP, for the compassionate care they provided to Cinda throughout her journey.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Riemann Family Funeral Home in Gulfport (11280 Three Rivers Road), from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel, and concluding with a Graveside Service at Evergreen Gardens in Gulfport. Cinda's passing leaves a profound void, but her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
