Marjorie Ann Gray Lizana peacefully passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025. She had the luxury of being raised by two loving parents, William Roy Gray and Elizabeth Scheibe Gray.
Preceding her in death are her parents; brother, William Roy Gray Jr.; grandparents, James Alfred Gray and Edna Bell Gray of Marion, Texas and Julius W. Scheibe Sr. and Margaret Fischer Scheibe of Seguin, Texas; uncles, Edwin Scheibe and Julius Scheibe Jr.; aunt, Doris Mae Hartmann Alderman, and aunt and uncle James W. and Ramona Gray.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 59 years, William Ray Lizana; son, Kevin Ray Lizana; sister, Marilyn Moltz and companion Don McCance of Marion, TX; sister-in- law, Kathy Gray, and numerous loving cousins, nephews and friends.
She was baptized on December 1, 1949, at Emmanuels’s Lutheran Church in Seguin, TX and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Marion, TX by Pastor Herbert Zimmermann.
Marjorie was a 1964 graduate of Marion High School. During her high school years she was the basketball scorekeeper, member of the FHA, National Honor Society, Choir, Pep Squad, Newspaper Staff, Annual Staff, served as Class President, and was voted Best Dressed. She also competed in numerous UIL competitions with many first-place ribbons attained.
She began her career at USAA. She also worked at Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union, the City of Marion, and Texas Independent Energy.
Visitation will be held at Goetz Funeral Home on Monday, August 4, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at St. John Lutheran Church in Marion, TX on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Bryan Dziadik-Willingham officiating. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. John Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 68, Marion, Texas 78124
