Born Cindy Lea Carson, January 13, 1962, in Eureka, California to William Charles and Judith Ann Marquardt Carson Hebdon Brisco. Joined by baby brother John Lealand, the very next year. When we were little, we were partners in crime-he was the partner, I was usually the crime. 1965 we left California because my dad said, "The money is in California, but the life is in the Rocky Mountains." We lived in Montana on a couple of different ranches, Big Hole and Dillon. Ranch life as a kid was Heaven! We raised horses, calves, bum lambs, pigs and played in the buggy barn with the kittens and our German shepherd. Our family joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was 9. My teen years brought our family to
Salmon, Idaho where my dad started his own prefabrication business. I was on the Drill Team and Cheerleading squad. I also started my own dance classes for little kids where we performed in the Salmon Days Parade. I learned to sew at 8 years old, first making a pair of Koolots and then making my mom and I matching Easter dresses, lots of dance outfits, and my brother a suit for prom. When my parents divorced, I graduated High School early and went on to Idaho State University where I met and married my "handsome," Denis Capson in 1980 in the Idaho falls Temple. He was fresh off his mission to England. Our 44 year marriage has been full of lots of adventures. He lovingly calls me "woman." I have loved our family journey, so wanted to do as many things as possible with and for my family that I could. I loved sewing baby blankets, infant burial clothing, decorating cakes, sewing Halloween costumes and coats for my kids, and helping with foster children and raising dogs. We had 6 kids, 27 foster children (our kids really learned to care for others) and then we adopted our last 2 boys after Denis had a really important dream about our family. We loved the Air Force for 20 years. We saw Utah, Colorado, Montana and Hawaii. I worked with family Services to help other military families.
Nothing brought me more joy than my family! Ryan was born in 1981. He was my tender-hearted friend, while Denis was gone in the military, served as B.A.B.A president, high councils and bishoprics. He loves to sing, play the piano and is our dial-a-nurse! Chase was born 1982, only weighing 6 lbs. 11 oz. our tiniest guy. So adventurous. We had a miscarriage in 1983. Brittney Ann was born in 1984. Always happy and smiling. Travis was born in 1987. Easy to talk to and had "spike" hair. Shay Braden was born in 1990. Our daredevil for sure. Taylee Brooke was born 1995. A real go-getter with everyone wrapped around her finger. It was always a good time when we could camp together, catch crayfish, ride motorcycles, float cans down the creek, have Family Home Evenings, and attend lots and lots of the kids' baseball, softball, football, tennis, music recitals and wrestling together. One summer we had 6 kids on 8 baseball teams. I would be awake all-night cleaning uniforms, socks, and looking for hats and gloves, just to do it all again the next day. That was the life!! Another great happiness in my life was that my kids all married great people and gave us 17 of the cutest grandkids! We built a life we loved!! 2008 Caleb and Blake came to live with us. Caleb was 4 and Blake was 2. They are ½ Puerto Rican, cute little boys. We felt very blessed to call them our own. I served in many church callings, but best I loved supporting my husband in his callings. Together we loved our kids, their spouses, grandbabies and a grand-dog. I have had a lifetime of JOY! I encouraged my kids to look at nature and enjoy the sunsets and sun rises. We are now living on our property in Elk Bend, Idaho in our little fishing cabin/retirement home and can fish whenever we want! We take long walks, float the river and ride our electric bikes (for exercise-ha!) My favorite word is JOY because things that bring JOY are eternal!
Kids, come fishing with your dad sometimes. Invite him to watch your kids. Take him to a movie. Thank you! Love you guys!! Be good!! Love each other, take care of each other. Say your prayers. See ya when you get here! I will be waiting with Jake and Chester and my grandma and grandpa Marquardt until you guys all get here. Help each other walk home! HUGS!
Love ya, Mom
