Cindy Ann Hutzler, age 67, of Kaiser, Missouri passed away Monday, January 6, 2025 after a long battle with melanoma.
She was born on January 16, 1957 in Lakefield, Minnesota to Walter and Gladys Schultz. Cindy grew up in Lakefield and graduated from Lakefield High School in 1975. After graduating, she became a Certified Medical Technician for the Lakefield Ambulance.
Cindy was united in marriage to Mike Hutzler on July 12, 1975. In 1984, Cindy and Mike moved to Lake of the Ozarks. Soon after moving to the Lake, Cindy began her 36-year career at School of the Osage. She began as a part-time cook and then quickly advanced to the school district's Food Service Director. In addition to this role, Cindy took care of all the hospitality needs for the school district. Cindy once said, "I've never regretted a day that I have worked. I don't want any child to go hungry." This motto earned her the title of a Lake Area Ambassador of Hope for an Influencer of Youth in 2022. This honor was awarded to her by L.O. Profile Magazine. As an advocate of all things hospitality, one of her favorite roles was working the gate for athletic events. Cindy never met a stranger; even the visiting crowd would stop to talk with her at the gate. After 36 years of service to the School of the Osage, Cindy retired in June of 2023.
Cindy and Mike shared a "once-in-a-lifetime" kind of love for the past 49 years. Cindy and Mike were blessed with four children who meant the world to her. They kept her very busy while growing up. She never missed the chance to cheer them on at sporting events and band competitions. Her grandchildren were also the light of her life and she treasured all the time she spent with them swimming in the summer, baking, and creating treasure hunts around the house.
Cindy looked forward to her family's annual Christmas trip to Branson. She loved roadtripping and exploring National Parks. Two of her favorite vacations were cruises to both Alaska and Hawaii. Cindy treasured her weekly meetings with the ladies in her cards group. She found joy in raising chickens and looked forward to friends and family stopping by the house for a fresh dozen of eggs.
Cindy was a devout member of our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and volunteered her time with various church activities. She was the cornerstone of her family, school, and community whose grace, wisdom, and unwavering kindness touched the lives of everyone she met. Cindy was more than a beloved family member and friend; she was a guiding light, a source of strength, and a pillar of love and support. Her legacy of compassion, generosity, and dedication will live on in our hearts forever. There are countless memories of her incredible impact she had on her family and community.
