Cindy Ann Hutzler, age 67, of Kaiser, Missouri passed away Monday, January 6, 2025 after a long battle with melanoma.
She was born on January 16, 1957 in Lakefield, Minnesota to Walter and Gladys Schultz. Cindy grew up in Lakefield and graduated from Lakefield High School in 1975. After graduating, she became a Certified Medical Technician for the Lakefield Ambulance.
Cindy was united in marriage to Mike Hutzler on July 12, 1975. In 1984, Cindy and Mike moved to Lake of the Ozarks. Soon after moving to the Lake, Cindy began her 36-year career at School of the Osage. She began as a part-time cook and then quickly advanced to the school district's Food Service Director. In addition to this role, Cindy took care of all the hospitality needs for the school district. Cindy once said, "I've never regretted a day that I have worked. I don't want any child to go hungry." This motto earned her the title of a Lake Area Ambassador of Hope for an Influencer of Youth in 2022. This honor was awarded to her by L.O. Profile Magazine. As an advocate of all things hospitality, one of her favorite roles was working the gate for athletic events. Cindy never met a stranger; even the visiting crowd would stop to talk with her at the gate. After 36 years of service to the School of the Osage, Cindy retired in June of 2023.
Cindy and Mike shared a "once-in-a-lifetime" kind of love for the past 49 years. Cindy and Mike were blessed with four children who meant the world to her. They kept her very busy while growing up. She never missed the chance to cheer them on at sporting events and band competitions. Her grandchildren were also the light of her life and she treasured all the time she spent with them swimming in the summer, baking, and creating treasure hunts around the house.
Cindy looked forward to her family's annual Christmas trip to Branson. She loved roadtripping and exploring National Parks. Two of her favorite vacations were cruises to both Alaska and Hawaii. Cindy treasured her weekly meetings with the ladies in her cards group. She found joy in raising chickens and looked forward to friends and family stopping by the house for a fresh dozen of eggs.
Cindy was a devout member of our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and volunteered her time with various church activities. She was the cornerstone of her family, school, and community whose grace, wisdom, and unwavering kindness touched the lives of everyone she met. Cindy was more than a beloved family member and friend; she was a guiding light, a source of strength, and a pillar of love and support. Her legacy of compassion, generosity, and dedication will live on in our hearts forever. There are countless memories of her incredible impact she had on her family and community.
Cindy is survived by her husband Mike Hutzler; two brothers, Christopher (Leann) Schultz of Osage Beach, MO and Alvin (Shelly) Schultz of Lakefield, MN; four sisters, Tina (Brian) Krumwiede of Trimont, MN, Gwen (David) Wiederhoft and Amy (Steve) Pribyl both of Osage Beach, MO, and JoAnn (Jim) Bretzman of Lakefield; sons Justin (Michaelyn) Hutzler, Michael (Diana) Hutzler, Lance (Brandy) Hutzler, all of Osage Beach, MO, and one daughter Christina Mitts of Warrensburg, MO; 5 grandchildren, Lyssa, Beth, Skyler, Heidi, and Brantley; 3 great grandchildren Willow, Madelyn, and Rayven; 3 granddogs, Major, Scarlett, and Timber; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cindy is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Gladys Schultz and her sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Jim Hutzler.
Friends and family will be received for a visitation on Saturday, January 11 from 9:00-11:00 am at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Ozark, MO. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Indian Support Fund in Cindy's name. Checks can be left at the church or mailed to School of the Osage, PO Box 1960, Lake Ozark, MO.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges-Scott-Millard Funeral Homes, 514 Highway 42, Osage Beach, MO 65065 (573) 348-3232. Condolences may be left online for the family at www.hedgesscottmillard.com.

I send my sincere sympathy to the Hutzler and Pribyl families for their loss of Cindy. She was always there with a positive attitude and a smile, willing to help. Cindy was an important member of the Osage family.

Cindy was such a wonderful person. She was always kind. But if she wanted you out of the way, she would just say MOVE. I always giggled about that. She wasn´t my boss for long, but I sure enjoyed our conversations. Take care Hutzler family, you are in my thoughts.
