Cindy Lynn Krisman, 67, of Emporia, Kansas, passed away on October 5, 2025, after a long and hard fight with Glioblastoma. She was born December 24, 1957, in Council Grove, Kansas, to Frank “Popeye” and Eleanor Phillips.
Cindy is preceded in death by her mother and father as well as her mother and father-in-law Thomas and Linnie Krisman, and her nephew Matthew Gillaspie.
Cindy is survived by her loving husband, Dale Krisman, and her daughter, Jordan Krisman. She is also survived by her sister, JaNell Brown; her sister-in-law, Lou Evy; and her nieces, Sara Weaver (Jesse), Crystal Crigger (Dale), and Cindy Eanes (Marlin). She leaves behind her great-nephews, Rowen Weaver and Desmond Holt, and her great-nieces, Wrenna Weaver, Makenzie Crigger, and Kendra Grey-Crigger. Cindy will also be deeply missed by her many dear friends, all of whom held a special place in her heart, including her special cousin, Ruby Hertlein.
Cindy lived a life centered around caring for others. She graduated from Council Grove High School, then went on to graduate from Wichita Technical College, and worked as a medical assistant for 30 years, offering compassion and comfort to countless patients. She later spent 17 years as a paraeducator at Emporia Middle School, where she touched the lives of students and staff with her patience, kindness, and gentle humor.
Outside of work, Cindy had a gift for creating joy in everyday moments. She treasured time with her many dear friends, loved crafting, baking treats to share, and found peace in camping and spending time outdoors. She had a way of adding a special touch to everyday life, in a way that most never could.
Those who knew Cindy will always remember her warm heart, her laughter, and her deep love for her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and traditions
A Celebration of life Service will be held at Grace United Methodist Church in Emporia, Kansas, at 11:00, Saturday, October 18, 2025.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:30 – 6:00pm, Friday, October 17, at Sawyer Funeral Home in Council Grove.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Wichita or Grace United Methodist Church.
