Our strong, spirited, mother, Cindy Lund passed away on July 10, 2025 in South Jordan, Utah. She was born to Raymond S. and Mary M. Chaney on November 7, 1944 in Sacramento, California.
Cindy married Earl Lund in November of 1976.
Throughout her life, Cindy was a true trailblazer. During her time at Herlong High (CA) she stood out as a talented horsewoman: earning the title of Junior Miss Rodeo Queen, winning numerous awards through 4-H, and thriving in ranch life. She especially loved working cattle with her favorite horse, Tomahawk. In 1961, Cindy became the first in our family to attend college, a milestone that reflected her ambition and determination. Over the years she built a successful career in finance and mortgage, holding key roles in companies such as John Price & Associates and First American Title. She ultimately retired as Vice President of National Closings at Stewart Title.
Cindy led a vibrant and fulfilling life, rich with passions and meaningful relationships. Above all, she cherished time spent with the love of her life, family and friends. Along side her husband, Earl, she enjoyed traveling, boating, square dancing, playing cards, golfing, and both tasting and making wine. In retirement, Cindy discovered a passion for competitive Jack Russel Terrier trials, she enthusiastically participated in events like Flyball, Lure Coursing, Barn Hunts and Go to Ground. One of her proudest accomplishments was her beloved dog, Tinker, a National Champion who brought her immense joy and pride.
She is survived by daughters Michele Austin (UT), Audrey Lund-Misner (UT), Heidi Solokis (Steve, CO), sons, Mike Austin (Kelly, UT), and Troy Wilson (Karen d: 2013/Holly, UT), 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and two of her beloved dogs.
She is preceded in death by her husband Earl (d: 5/1/2025), Karen Lund-Wilson (d: 2013), mother Mary Chaney, grandson Cory, many friends and multiple fur babies.
Funeral service will be held Saturday July 19, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary.
