Cindy Menendez

Cynthia Jean "Cindy" Menendez, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia, at the age of 68.
Born on March 26, 1957, in Marshall County, West Virginia, Cindy lived a life filled with warmth and dedication. Over the years, she was known for her unwavering commitment and hard work as a waitress, where she treated her customers like family, leaving an indelible mark on those she served. Cindy was an active member of the former Lady Elks - Lodge #282 in Moundsville, where she enjoyed the camaraderie and shared values of her fellow members.
Cindy lived a simple yet fulfilling life, grounded in the love she held for her family. She found joy in the tranquility of nature, eagerly anticipating trips to the beach and adventures in the mountains. From childhood through adulthood, camping was a cherished pastime that brought her closer to nature. A passionate NASCAR fan, Cindy's heart "raced" with excitement for her favorite driver, Tony Stewart.
She is preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Robinson, and her beloved granddaughter, Lakyn Burge. Cindy's memory will be forever cherished by her loving husband of 46 years, David "Mick" Menendez; her devoted mother, Clara Robinson; and her children, K.C. Vanover, Kenny (Moriah) Whetzal, and Alicia (Jordan) Cumpston. She also leaves behind her siblings, Patty (Ed) Cheslick, Robby (Tammy) Robinson, Tammy Yankoski, and Jimmy (Jonnie) Robinson; grandchildren Lewis Whetzal, Levi Whetzal, and Jolene Cumpston; two great-grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to gather for closed casket visitation to honor Cindy's life on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 6 to 8 PM at CARE Funeral & Cremation Specialists, located at 1500 2nd St., Moundsville, WV.
