Cindy Hoover Smith, 73, passed away on August 17, 2025 at her home in Campti, LA surrounded by her loving family.

Cindy loved the Lord and was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Coushatta branch. Through the years she taught Sunday School and was actively involved in the Women's Relief Society.

She grew up in Coushatta, LA and worked at Sunbeam for 25 years and at Alliance in Natchitoches for 5 years before retiring. She was always ready to travel at a moment's notice with family or friends. Cindy loved flower gardening and tending to her many flower beds. She enjoyed crocheting and lovingly made many special items over the years for grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and others. The last couple of years her favorite activity was the weekly meeting of the "Campti Library Ladies" where she made many friends and enjoyed their activities and programs. Special friends included Audrey Cason, Evelyn "Tootsie" Layfield, and Joann Bryant.

She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Gene Smith; children, Kimberly Wren Cox and husband William, Jessica Wren, and William Smith and wife Candace, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four sisters, Freda Dupree, Kathy Smith, Brenda Youngblood, and Darlene H. Cullen, one brother, Fred "Bubba" Giddings, and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nina Faye Giddings (Fred) and Lloyd Louis Hoover, Sr (Mary); and siblings Lloyd "Louis" Hoover, Jr, Carolyn Dial, Shirley Miller, Sue Palmer, Buddy Giddings, Lydia H. Jenkins, and Robert "Buddy" Hoover.

Services will be held at 10 A.M. Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home Chapel in Coushatta, LA with Tyler Paul officiating. Graveside services will follow in Thomas-Wren Cemetery with Alvin Keith presiding. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Austin Smith, Corey Womack, Dillon Hull, Lane Hull, Jaylen Wren, and Shane Cason. Honorary Pallbearers will be her nephews.
