Funeral services for Faye Evelyn Ross, 85, of Shreveport, LA will be held at 10 A.M. Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Joe Asbell and Stephen Ross officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ross was born January 12, 1940 in Ringgold, LA and passed away August 24, 2025.

Faye graduated from Northwestern State University College of Nursing in Shreveport, Louisiana, in 1987. She began her career at Willis-Knighton North, but soon found her way back home, serving seven years at L.S. Huckabay Memorial Hospital in Coushatta. There she worked in numerous capacities, including as a floor nurse, in surgery, and in the emergency room.

Her true calling, however, was in the field of hospice care. Faye was co-founder of three different hospice agencies and part owner of St. Joseph Hospice in Shreveport. Through her work, she touched countless lives with compassion, dignity, and grace. She retired in 2008 after a long and rewarding career devoted to serving others.

Beyond her career, Faye was a woman of deep faith, unwavering love, and steadfast strength. She poured herself into her family, always putting their needs before her own, and she cherished every role; wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her kindness, wisdom, and gentle spirit were a blessing to all who knew her, and her influence will live on in the lives she shaped.

Faye's legacy is not only found in her many years of service as a nurse, but in the love she gave so freely and the example she set as a woman of faith and devotion.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Rodgers Ross; parents, Bill and Evelyn "Eb" Hammett; one brother, Ted Wayne Hammett; and one grandson, John Michael Boyle, II.

Mrs. Ross is survived by her children, Anita Faye Boyle and husband John, Stephen Ross and wife Tracie, Brian Ross and wife Stacy, and Ricci Driggers; one brother, Max Hammett and wife Tina; two sisters, Judy McCarthy and husband Mike and Jann Huckaby and husband Roger; ten grandchildren: Jarrod Boyle, Joshua Boyle, Aubrie McCain, Jacob Boyle, Katie Gilliam, Emma Ross, Kelly Ross, Kaylee Ross, Dalton Driggers, and Steven Driggers; eleven great-grandchildren: Natalia Boyle, John Michael Boyle III, Everett Boyle, Sloane McCain, Stella McCain, and one on the way Sophie McCain, Charlie Hopkins, Wilson Boyle, Hunter Milstead, Logan Milstead, and Zachary Driggers.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Jarrod Boyle, Joshua Boyle, Jacob Boyle, Kelly Ross, Dalton Driggers, and Steven Driggers.

The family wishes to express a special thanks to Dr. David Abdehou and Montclair Park Assisted Living.
