Cynthia (Cindy) Carol Smith, 79 of Texhoma, Texas passed away suddenly Tuesday evening, September 2, 2025, at Memorial Hospital in Guymon, Oklahoma. The daughter of H.C. Jack and Martha (Petrose) Elmore, she was born on June 22, 1946.

As the only child of a ranch manager and a nurse, she grew up in Montana with a love for livestock and animals of all kinds. She graduated from Custer County High School in Miles City, Montana in 1964. After graduation she worked as a bank teller and bookkeeper until she met her husband of 52 years Sidney Smith. The couple moved to Texhoma in the Fall of 1968 where they settled for the remainder of their lives.

In Texhoma, she worked for the Texhoma Times newspaper and then as the assistant to the Superintendent of Texhoma ISD. In 1986 she graduated from Oklahoma Panhandle State University with a bachelor's degree in accounting. After graduating she began work for Cargill doing feedlot accounting and business office management. In 1995 she joined the Freeman Ranch Office in Texhoma where she remained until retirement in 2023.

She is survived by her sons Miles (Clay) and Jason Smith and their wives Michelle Asher and Christina Luna; grandchildren Bryer Smith and wife Ariana, Bryanna Smith and Jasmine Cardona, Mikyla and husband Noah Watkins, Morgan Smith and TJ Murrell; great grandchildren Aidenn, Adelynn, Noel, and Braxtynn.

Viewing will be at First Baptist Church in Texhoma on Friday, September 5th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Service will be held Saturday, September 6th at 10:00 am with graveside following at the Marella Cemetery in the Griggs Community.

The family requests that memorials be given to the Texhoma Baptist Church Joy Club and RA/GA Program. Memorials will be accepted at the Church Office or at Bunch Roberts Funeral Home, PO Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942. Friends can sign the online guestbook and leave condolences at www.bunchroberts.com.
