Clair Main Obituary
Clair Lee Main, affectionately known to family and friends as "Lee" or "C. Lee", of Highspire, PA, passed away Wednesday October 16, 2024 at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center at the age of 55.
Born July 4, 1969, in Ellwood City, he was a son of the late Woodrow and Rose (Rosaci) Main. On July 6, 1991, Lee married Trishia J. (Watson) Main, with whom he has shared a devoted and blessed union of 33 years.
A veteran of the United States Army, Lee worked as a Data Analyst for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Transportation, for nearly 27 years, prior to his retirement. He had also worked with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) over the years. Lee was a member of the American Legion.
On a crisp and cool fall afternoon, with sunbeams shining through the window onto his face, Lee was enveloped with the abundant knowledge of how much he was loved. With his wife by his side, and the comforting voices and support of his sister and brother-in-law, he peacefully closed his sparkling blue eyes and his luxurious long eye lashes for the last time; and, bravely took one final breath that earned him his heavenly reward.
Lee was known for humbly sharing the benefit of his gifted, beautiful analytical mind and for always seemingly and effortlessly figuring out expected statistical outcomes to constructively inspire positive results. He would routinely lift weights and jog; and had worked out in his younger years. On the weekends, Lee and his wife enjoyed frequently sharing road trips and doing yard work together as much as possible. From a young age, he had enjoyed video games; among his favorites were the Legend of Zelda, Mario Brothers and Star Fox Franchises. He was a Nintendo Guy.
Lee was also a professional Wrestling fan and always knew watching WWE, AEW, NJPW, TNA, WOW, ECW and independents was something easily available and entertaining everywhere he traveled. He was a lifelong Steelers, Penguins & Pirates fan. Watching Boxing and Football – in fact, almost any kind of sports – game shows and sitcoms became one of his favorite past times. Although unconventional, and not necessarily something he would routinely do on his own, he would make a point and even learned to enjoy watching Days of Our Lives with his wife. Lee also enjoyed listening to all types of music. Metallica was one of his all-time favorite groups.
A man of courage, wisdom and faith, Lee strongly believed we all benefit from the power and strength of prayer. If Lee was having a particularly good day, he would always manage to share his joy, be of service, inspire and encourage others. If he was having a bad day, he would always manage to share in the joy of others, be of service, inspire and encourage others. His courageous and brave battle dealing with medical complexity while still graciously managing the best possible baseline wellness and bravely continuing to manage being upbeat and stay alive several times when diagnosed with serious conditions was authentically inspirational. Very often, he seemed to even surprise the medical community. In many ways, it was almost a medical mystery how often he could beat the odds against him; and, so bravely and gracefully manage the many medical complexities and complications he faced. Lee continues to inspire, encourage and set an example for others.
Lee is survived by his wife, Trishia, his sisters, Linda McKelvey of Beaver Falls, PA and Rose (Tom "Mugsy") Watson of Ellwood City, PA and brothers, Woodrow "Woody" Main of Hickory, PA, Rodney (Debbie) Main of Wampum, PA and Alan (Sonya) Main of Beaver, PA; along with a brother-in-law, Eldon (Cyndi) Watson III of New Wilmington, PA and sisters-in law Becky Main of Ohio, Rachael Sharketti of Elwood City, PA, Shari (Brian) Robinson of Ellwood City, PA and Jody (Randy) Killen of PA.
