Clair M Thompson, 91, of West Valley City returned home to Heavenly Father on September 24, 2025. He was born in Mayfield UT on April 23, 1934, to Wallace L Thompson and Rhoda Dorius Thompson. Clair had a love of the old country music which he listened to often. He was a great bowler and spent many hours at the bowling alley. He enjoyed fishing and camping trips to Twin Lakes and Emerald Reservoir. He worked many years as an operator at AMOCO Oil where he retired and he and Colene spent 30 years together traveling to places like Niagara Falls, Carlsbad Caverns and wherever else they wanted to go. They walked the Mall, went to the library for new books and movies and wrote down everyone he ever read. When RC Willey had their free Hot Dogs, you knew where he would be, right there getting his Hot Dog. He loved good food and especially his favorite Red Velvet Cake.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints although not active, he supported Colene in all that she did.

He married Carol Lott on May 22, 1954, and later divorced. He then married Colene Jones on May 15, 1971, in Elko Nevada. He is survived by 4 children Vickie Thompson (Elsinore), Julie Thompson (West Valley City), Tracy Kidd (West Valley City), Sherrie Bosen (Mark) (Tooele) and a brother Charles Thompson (Ruth) (Colorado). 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild on the way.

He was preceded in death by Colene Thompson (Wife), Wallace L Thompson (Father), Rhoda Dorius Thompson (Mother), Kay Thompson (Brother), Carol Christiansen and LaWana Baxter (sisters) and Kevin Hill (Grandson).

Funeral Services will be held October 1, 2025 with a Graveside Service at 11:00 am. Services and Internment will be at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery.
