Claira Sue Hernandez, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, will be remembered with joy and gratitude following her peaceful passing on March 4, 2026, at the age of 67. Born on April 9, 1958, in Comanche, TX, Claria was a bright light in the lives of everyone she touched. She was the cherished daughter of William Arthur Crews and Ruby (Durham) Williams and a devoted wife to Tino Hernandez, whom she married in Ranger, TX in 1978.
Claira embraced life with open arms and a caring spirit, making a lasting impact as a CNA where she dedicated herself to the well-being of others. Family was at the heart of her existence; she found immense joy in spending time with her Husband, Tino Hernandez, And her daughters, Tammi Copeland and spouse Chris Johnson, and Wendy McDade and husband Scot McDade. As a proud grandmother, Claira elighted in the lives of her five grandchildren-Hailey Copeland, Aaron Copeland and fiancé Delynn Maldonado, Quinton Hernandez and partner Tristen Wallace , Kaleigh Hernandez, and Caden Hernandez-always ready to share laughs and create beautiful memories.
Claira's love for simple pleasures was evident in her many hobbies, from watching movies and shopping , and reading, and much more. She is also survived by her two sisters, Margie Williams and Nancy Briam, and two brothers, John Crews and wife Cracker and Oscar Crews. She brought joy to all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
Claira will be honored during a celebratory graveside service set to take place on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger, TX. The service, officiated by Steven Herod, will be a heartfelt tribute to the wonderful life she lived , the wonderful wife and mother, Grandmother she was , and the love she shared helping others throughout her life.
Her family invites all who knew and loved Claira to join them in this celebration of her life, honoring her memory with love and joy as she joins her parents and siblings in eternal peace. Services are arranged under the caring direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Eastland.
