Claire Laura Bader, 86, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.
She was born on December 24, 1937, in Philadelphia, PA.
She is survived by loving husband Ronald E. Bader, much-loved daughter Diane L. Yanni; son Thomas W. Yanni and his husband Bruce Johansen; grandson Alex Palatajko; her sister Elizabeth Black and brother William Smith. She was predeceased by her father William J. Smith and mother Laura E. Smith.
After many years as a Human Resources professional, Claire retired to Mt. Pleasant, SC in 1998. She enjoyed traveling--particularly a trip to Ireland in 2008-- as well as reading, jazz music, and cooking. Her Italian tomato sauce with sausage and meatballs is legendary and her lemon chicken soup and garlic soup have comforted countless people through colds and flu. She always completed the Times crossword puzzle in ink, although she may have occasionally relied on a handy crossword dictionary.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Mount Pleasant Gardens for their kindness, patience, and professionalism. The family is also grateful to Barron Care Management (Kate Barron, Dan Barron, Jackie Robinson and Carol Jackson) for their empathy, warmth, and acts of kindness large and small far too numerous to list.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity, PO BOX 1990, Mount Pleasant, SC 29465-1990.
