Jim Bader, 86, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth on Monday, November 10, 2025. He was born in Mendota, IL on October 5, 1939.
Jim graduated from the University of Illinois as an attorney. He practiced business and real estate law in Homewood, IL.
Jim and his wife, Kathy, purchased a cottage on Cook Lake in 1979. It became a beloved weekend family retreat. He retired to Cook Lake and became a full-time Indiana resident.
For 17 years, he had perfect attendance in Rotary International. Golf was his favorite activity. The Chicago Bears were his favorite sports team.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Kathy; children, Robin Plywaczewski of Geneva, IL. Edward Bader of Panama City Beach, FL; and Michael Bader of Batavia, IL. Eight grandchildren will miss their devoted and supportive grandpa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Marshall County Neighborhood Center, 402 W. Garro Street, Plymouth, IN 46563 or to the donor’s charity of choice.
No formal services will be held at this time.
