Barbara Irene Guernsey, 83, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Autumn Trace Assisted Living, Plymouth.
She was born on April 6, 1942, in LaPorte, Indiana, and was the daughter of Lesler and Verma (Short) Schoff. She graduated from Hamlet High School with the class of 1959. Barbara married Wilbert at Eagle Creek Church in Knox on October 14, 1962.
Barbara was someone who was always happy, sweet, and giving towards others. She was one to never complain and endured through all of her trials. Barbara enjoyed just being with Wilbert in everything from traveling, visiting the 49 states, or going out to eat together, an avid reader who enjoyed her Danielle Steele Books. She and Wilbert attended Journey Church in Plymouth.
She is survived by her husband Wilbert of Plymouth; son Richard (Jennifer) Guernsey and their children: Zacharias (Jessica), Jeremiah, Abraham, and Rebecca; daughter Penny (David) Neidig and their children: Tyler (Rachel) Puckett, Tara, Courtney (Carlos) Marinho and Jordan; son Wilbert “Wilby’’ (Maddie) Guernsey and their children: Sabrina, Wendy (Geoffrey) Graber, and Charlie; daughter: Patsy (David) Foster and their children: Chad (Cara), Josh (Danielle), Davey (Karen) and Brad (Brooke); siblings: Ben Schoff, Gene Schoff, Martha Yung, Betty Slater and Lilian Schoff.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Fred, Edward, Floyd, Lloyd, and Joyce.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 12-2 pm at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, IN 46563. Funeral services will immediately follow, with Pastor David Stauffer officiating.
Burial will take place in the New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.
