Karen L. Guernsey, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. She was born on October 28, 1940, in Fremont, Ohio, to the late Harold and Ruth (Snow) Zucker.
Karen was a proud graduate of Fremont Ross High School and went on to earn her medical assistant degree from Stautzenberger College. After starting her family, she devoted herself wholeheartedly to being a homemaker, a role she cherished.
Karen had a deep love for cooking and baking, and she was especially known for her signature pies - apple, cherry, and her one-of-a-kind cheeseburger pie. It was her homemade crust, crafted with care and precision, that made each one unforgettable.
In addition to her love of family and food, Karen was a passionate advocate for local history. As head of the Whitehouse Historical Society, she played a key role in the restoration of the historic log cabin in Whitehouse, Ohio.
Karen was a devoted and faithful Jehovah's Witness for 50 years, having dedicated her life to her faith since 1975. Her gentle spirit, unwavering devotion, and love for her congregation were evident to all who knew her.
She will be remembered most for her love of her family, her grandchildren, and her beloved pets. Karen's legacy is one of kindness, dedication, and deep-rooted love.
She is survived by her children, Lisa Baker of Tiffin, Ohio, Kelly Lee Guersney of Napoleon, Ohio, Susan Morro of Whitehouse, Ohio, David (Elaine) Guernsey of Delta, Ohio, grandchildren Doug Baker, Sean Zachel, Melodie Zachel, Kyle Zachel, Sonnet Guernsey, Stone Guernsey, great-grandchildren Douglas Baker, Xavier Baker and her great-great-granddaughter Aahdya Baker.
She was preceded in death by her siblings Jeff and Sharon Zucker and grandson Roland Baker.
Funeral services for Karen will take place Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 740 N. McCord Rd., Toledo, OH 43615-4116. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home in Whitehouse, Ohio.
