Liliane Gerwin Obituary

Liliane was born on July 10, 1934, in Cannes, France. She graduated from high school there and earned her cosmetology license, using her talents at her sister's boutique to attend to American movie stars from the 1950s who visited the French Riviera.
When her beloved husband and best friend, Roger, was stationed in the French Mediterranean with the U.S. Navy, fate brought them together. After they fell deeply in love, Liliane came to the United States, where she built a beautiful life and learned to speak English by watching television shows-a testament to her determination and curiosity.
Family was everything to Liliane. She cherished her loved ones deeply and surrounded herself with hundreds of cherished photos that filled her home, each one a reflection of her love and devotion. She was a wonderful cook, and everyone looked forward to her delicious meals, lovingly prepared and shared with joy.
Liliane also had a creative spirit-she loved to crochet and made countless blankets for her family, each one stitched with warmth and care. Her greatest joy was vacationing near the ocean, where she found peace and happiness. She had a passion for travel and especially treasured her trip to Italy, where the beauty and culture captured her heart.
A devoted member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Liliane's strong faith guided her throughout her life and gave her the strength to face every challenge with grace and resilience.
She was such a wonderful role model for her family.
Liliane will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, laughter, and unwavering love of family-a legacy that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Preceding her in death was her devoted husband of 66 years, Roger Gerwin. Left to love her always are her children, Steve (Gloria), Sharon (Dave) Young, Michelle, and Scott (Sarah); grandchildren, Alicia (David) Blaylock, Ashley (JC) Rose, Ross (Taylor), Matthew (Hannah), Tyler (Megan), Ryan, and Aaron; and great-grandchildren, Scarlette, Calvin, and Christian. Beloved pet Lily.
A private service will be held at Dunn Funeral Home on October 13, 2025.
Flowers may be sent to Dunn Funeral Home or donations to the Wood County Humane Society.

Liliane, was as her obituary says. She was a wonderful person and friend ! She will e missed, but I know she is at peace and in the hands of the Lord. I can see her smiling.
