Lisa Willmarth Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dunn Funeral Home - Bowling Green on Jan. 20, 2026.
Lisa Michele Willmarth was born July 21, 1963 and passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026. Lisa was the youngest of five children born to David and Mary Lou Willmarth. She grew up in Bowling Green, graduating from Bowling green High School in 1981. Shortly thereafter, she moved her free spirit to Oxnard, California where she lived most of her adult life with her Uncle Phil. The two of them were as close as family could be and he saw her as one of his daughters. They took care of each other until his death in 2009.
Lisa came back to Bowling Green about eight years ago to spend more time with her mom and eventually became a caretaker and companion for her. Lisa had a huge heart and a deep love for her family. She also could be a handful and played her role as the youngest child very well. She loved to read and especially watch old western movies on tv. Her education came through living life. She was fiercely loyal and not afraid to speak her mind. One of her favorite books was Victor Frankel's "Man's Search for Meaning." Lisa had her share of challenges in her life but was a survivor.
Lisa is survived by her mom, Mary Lou Willmarth; sister Teri (Jerry) Anderson; brothers Mark (Mary) Willmarth and Mike (Jackie) Willmarth. Her nieces Jessica, Jenna and Chelsea and nephews Jeremy, Cory and Taylor were all a part of her life when she returned to Bowling Green. She also loved Kevin, a two-year old pug who had the same free spirit as her. Lisa also maintained contact with her dear friend Lisa Guerrero in California. They were friends for some 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her dad, David Gerard Willmarth and her sister Lori Willmarth Dunn.
Lisa chose to be cremated and there will be no formal service. A gathering of family and friends will occur at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 W. Wooster St.
Memorial contributions may be given in her memory to a charity of the donor's choice.

Rest in peace dear Lisa. I knew Lisa from school growing up in BG. I moved away after 10th grade but still remember her and her curly hair, quick wit, and cute dimples when she smiled. She definitely was a free spirit. Fly high sweet Lisa!

I am so sad, and feel bad that I didn´t even realize Lisa was in BG. Unfortunately when my mom passed so did the cousin connection. I remember the 5 Willmarths at church all dressed in matching outfits, I was so jealous. And a memory of Lisa with black frosting on her face from a doughnut ladybug cake my mom had bought. My mom and your mom always made an effort to keep us connected. Rest in peace dear Lisa.
