Claire Brunelle Bushey

St. Albans – Mrs. Claire Bushey passed away on November 11, 2025, at the age of seventy-four. She was born on July 22, 1951, in Burlington, VT, to the late Lenoard J. and Irene (Rich) Brunelle.
She enjoyed a wide range of hobbies, including knitting, cross stitching, and creating diamond art. She liked to read books and was especially talented at sewing. Her handmade gifts are lifelong treasures. She was an avid race car fan. Her favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt Junior, who she got to meet and get a photo with along with his signature on her hat at the Richmond Racetrack. She also had a tender spot for her feline companion, Willow, who she adored. Claire will always be remembered for her infectious laugh, her giving nature, and welcoming so many into her home and her heart.
Claire was married in Winooski, VT, in 1970, to Paul William Bushey of Burlington, VT. She was employed at various businesses in Burlington, VT, and St. Albans, VT. She retired in St. Albans after several years working in the bakery department at Price Chopper.
Claire leaves behind her husband of 55 years Paul W., along with their three children and their spouses; Paul L. and Jamie Bushey (St. Albans, VT) Steven P. and Carrie Bushey (St. Albans, VT), and her daughter; Anne Marie Bushey (St. Albans, VT). She is also survived by her siblings; Leonard W. Brunelle, Gerald R. Brunelle and Richard Brunelle. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren; Brandon, Logan, Taylor, Alysha, Alexis, Reed, Camryn, and Tiara. And five great-grandchildren; Adalynn, Arianna, Emalynn, Rowan, and Hudson.
Claire is predeceased by her beloved son; Michael, her parents; Lenoard and Irene Brunelle, and her infant brothers; Larry and Michael.
The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff and dedicated individuals at the UVM McClure Miller Respite House for the outstanding care provided during her stay.

Funeral services with Claire's family were held privately.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025, from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans.
Burial will be at the family lot at Mount Calvary Cemetery next spring with her family.
