Claire Messina

Claire Messina of South Weymouth passed away peacefully on February 23, 2022, at the age of 89. Claire was born, raised, and educated in Boston. Claire married her husband Joe in 1952. In 1963 the two moved their family to South Weymouth.

Claire enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, exercising at the gym, traveling and dining out with her husband and loved to go shopping. She was an active member at the Weymouth Senior Center and would cherish the time she spent there with her husband and friends at various events and trips. Above all else she was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother always caring for her family first and foremost.

Claire was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Joseph Messina. She was the devoted mother of Linda Pearson and her husband David of Abington, Joseph Messina and his wife Donna of Hanover and Michael Messina and his wife Lisa of Wareham. Claire was the grandmother of David, Brian, Nicole, Steven, Ashley, Dylan, Cole and Nicholas and great grandmother of Ryan, Gabrielle, Landon, Andrew, Desi, and Cassidy. Claire also leaves behind her sister Rita Coppens of PA and was predeceased by her siblings James Glavin, Joan Hickey and Carol Jodoin. She also leaves her dear friends Charlotte Buckley and Pat Ryder.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral mass for Claire on Thursday March 3, 2022, at St. Francis Xavier Church in South Weymouth at 11am. A burial will immediately follow the mass at Lakeview Cemetery South Weymouth. Services are in the care of C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home. For further information visit ccshepherd.com.
