Catherine Reddish (Furkart), age 87, of Weymouth and formerly of Braintree and S. Boston, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. Catherine was born and raised in Roxbury and graduated high school in 1956. Shortly after graduation, she married her beloved husband Frank. They started a family in Roxbury then cultivated countless memories raising their family in South Boston.
Catherine Moved to Braintree after the passing of Frank in 1987 where she lived for many years before more recently living in Weymouth.
Catherine was an outstanding mother and grandmother, she used these natural gifts to help patients as a Nurse's Aide for 20 years at Marion Manor Nursing Home in South Boston. She was a dedicated family woman, the only thing she liked more was shopping for good deals at her favorite stores! Usually buying gifts for her grandchildren. Catherine also was an excellent cook and loved her daytime soap operas.
Catherine was predeceased by her beloved husband Francis "Frank" Reddish Sr., her two children Franky Jr. and Steven Reddish, her five siblings, and her grandson Michael Paul Shea. She is survived by her loving children Denise Merlin and her husband Ed of Weymouth, Mark Reddish of Norwood, Rita Reddish of Abington, and Tammy Reddish of Braintree, her cherished 8 grandchildren, and her 8 great-grandchildren. Catherine is also survived by her brother, Robert Furkart.
Funeral Services for Catherine will be private for her family. She will be interred with her husband Frank at the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Dorchester.
