Claire Lynn Nordness, 77, of Iola, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King, where she had been a resident for the past five months. Claire was born on July 28, 1948, in Milwaukee to the late Helen (Johnson) Parker. On July 28, 1984, in Milwaukee, Claire married Charles Nordness.

Claire dedicated over 38 years to her career as a school bus driver in the Milwaukee, Waupaca, and Iola areas. She also served on the Amherst Opera House Board. Claire cherished listening to music, crocheting, sewing, and spending time at Sunset Lake in the Town of New Hope.

She is survived by her husband, Charlie; son, Dan Parker; daughter, Diane Kneisl-Baker; granddaughter, Helen Parker; and brother, Tom (Peggy) Parker. As well as 4 nieces; Becky (Mark) Stultz, Brandi (Ryan) Hammond, Brooke (David) Franco, Bethany Parker, and 2 nephews; Ken (Kari) Parker, and John (Jaimi) Parker and 15 Great Nieces and Nephews. Claire was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Parker, and brother, Bill Parker.

A Memorial Service for Claire will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Peace Lutheran Church in Amherst, officiated by Rev. Dwight Anderson. Visitation will take place at the church on Friday from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM. The interment of cremains will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Town of Amherst, Portage County, Wisconsin.

Voie Funeral Home of Iola assisted the family with the arrangements.
