Claire Anne Vighetti, age 74, of St. Augustine, passed away, peacefully, on October 9, 2023 at the Bailey Family Center for Caring. She was born in Philadelphia and grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia in Montgomery County. Claire married her high school sweetheart, Hubert "Skip" Vighetti and attended St. Luke's Catholic Church in Glenside. She spent her entire professional career working in the insurance industry in the IT department. Claire was a very loyal and dedicated employee and was beloved and respected as a person and top performer. She was known for her dedication, loyalty, kindness and integrity. She worked her entire career in the insurance industry retiring from the former Liberty Insurance Agency based in Manayunk, Pa. Even more important than her work, was Claire's dedication as a mother to her son, Stephen. Throughout all of his life she was his greatest confidant and biggest supporter in all things athletics and academics. In all her life she was most proud of her family. In 2014 she and her husband moved to St. Augustine to be closer to their son and grandchildren. Claire loved being a grandmother and enjoyed going to all of her grandchildren's activities. She will be remembered for her love of Philadelphia sports, she was an avid Philadelphia Union and Eagles fan, but her first love was the Philadelphia Phillies. Claire liked giving back to the community and volunteered at the cancer center, Corpus Christi Catholic Church and The Lightner Museum. Claire spent her life as an example of love and service to others. More than anything she was a loving and devoted, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Hubert "Skip" Vighetti, Jr.; son, Stephen Vighetti (Tara); grandchildren, Owen and Amelie and her sisters, Connie Roman (Jim Zoog) and Rosemarie Lewis. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Agnes Lewis and siblings, Suzanne Heller, Roy Lewis, Leo Lewis and Lana Ardente.
A memorial mass will be held at 11am on October 23, 2023 at St. Anastasia Catholic Church.
