Clara D. Johnson, age 85, of Ottawa, passed away Friday, January 30, 2026 at Pleasant View Healthcare, in the presence of her loving family.
Clara was born December 7, 1940 at Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Clarence and Erma Reed. She married Russell Johnson in 1964 at Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death February 12, 1988. Clara is survived by her children, Gayle Bishop, Sandra Johnson and Russell Paul (Chaya) Johnson all of Ottawa. She also leaves grandchildren, Alyssa, Alex, Daylon, Shaia and Treyvis; and great-grandchildren Tyannah, Naomi and Isaiah. Clara was preceded in death by her brothers, Ivan Reed, Bill Green and Luster "Buddy" Green; and sisters Maxine Lee and Margaret Bedell.
Clara was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church. She retired from Community Hospital of Ottawa. Leisure time would find Clara cooking, working Soduku puzzles, reading mystery novels and watching her favorite shows Walker Texas Ranger and CSI: Miami. Time most precious was that spent with her loving family.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 am Thursday, February 5th followed by a funeral service at Noon at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Johnson officiating. Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
