She was born and raised in Idabel, Oklahoma and came to Durant, Oklahoma in 2008. She was a proud member of the Choctaw tribe and was fluent in the Choctaw language.
Clara loved to read. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, and arts and crafts, word puzzles.
She is preceded in death by her parents Wilcey (Shaw) and Walter Kaniatobe; brothers James Kaniatobe, Cecil Kaniatobe, Melvin Kaniatobe, Charles Kaniatobe, Alvin Kaniatobe; sisters Josephine Porter, Doris Chavez, Carol Ann Kaniatobe, Susan Watson.
She is survived by her sons Sonny John of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Gary Coker of Durant, Oklahoma; grandsons Manuel Pachico of Norman, Oklahoma, Lorenzo John of Durant, Oklahoma; great grandson Obadiah John of Durant, Oklahoma; as well as other extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 24, 2025 at The Gordon Center, 305 N. 2nd Ave., Durant, Oklahoma with Pastor Rick Kaniatobe officiating.
