Mildred Summers, 88, of Cleveland, TN passed away on February 2, 2025. She was born on January 20, 1937 to the late Kenneth and Hazel Weaver.
Mildred was a member of Central Church of Christ for many years. Members of the church may most often remember her for her beloved "Card Ministry" that provided cards to families any time there was a memorable life event. She was also a gifted seamstress who could make anything look pretty! Mildred loved deeply. Her complete love of children offered her home up to over 23 children throughout the years.
In addition to her mother and father, she is preceded in death by her daughter Brenda Davis.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 70 years, Gene Summers, who asked her out on a date 70 years ago at the Blue Circle Restaurant and said they have been on a date each day ever since.
She also leaves behind her children: Kelly Summers, Karen Thomas (Phil), and Wally Summer; son in law Jerry Davis; grandchildren: David and April Thomas, Devon and Talania Thomas, Dilan Thomas, and Tabatha and Will Sullivan; great grandchildren: Dakota, Chloe, Jaxon, Harrison, Emerson, Lexi and Dean Thomas and Liam and Evie Sullivan. As well as Nicki and Ellie Shaw and many other special children along the way.
Mildred's family will receive friends from 6pm until 7pm on Friday February 7th at Central Church of Christ with a Celebration of Life Service to follow.
