Mr. Clarence Bennett Sr.

Clarence Bennett, Sr., was born in Canton, Mississippi to Edward Shelby and Lela Bennett on June 10, 1940.

Clarence received his education in Alexandria, Louisiana.

He moved to Kansas City, Mo., in 1962 to begin his journey with his family and friends.

Clarence was baptized at Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church at an early age.

Clarence worked for the University of Kansas City, Mo. for 30 years.

After 30 years of retirement, he began to travel more and enjoying life with his wife, children and grandchildren.

He enjoyed the nightlife with family and friends he loved getting dressed and going dancing. He also enjoyed watching all sports especially the (Chiefs).

Clarence was called home on September 16, 2025 by his heavenly father from a long battle with prostate cancer. He will rejoice and celebrate in heaven with his mother and father. His sisters Susie Ausmer and Daisy Terrell, his brothers Leander Clay, Robert Jenkins and Eddie Bennett.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 50 years Anna Bennett, his children Melody (Worris) Levine, Debra (Joseph) Johnson, Sharon (Robert) Robinson, Clarence, Jr., (Renae) Bennett, Daisy Bennett, Theary (Angel) Bennett, Rena Graves, Jenne Lindsey, Stacey (Patrick, Sr.) Ersery, Kimberly (Yusuf) Tiamiyu, and Monica (Lee, III) Burns step children Kevin Harlin, Roy Meekie, Rosalind Meekie, 25 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be held Saturday, September 27, 2025 11:00 am at Watkins Heritage Chapel. Interment Brooking Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00am-11:00am at the chapel. Arrangements entrusted to Watkins Heritage Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
