Early Life
Elder Clarence Davis III passed away Wednesday, October 1st, 2025 peacefully in his home at the age of 63. He clocked into purpose on December 11th, 1961 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Clarence Davis Jr and Florie Davis.
Marriage & Family
Clarence was blessed in marriage twice. In 1980, he married Doreen Holmes Davis, with whom he shared many cherished years and a beautiful family until her passing in 2003. In 2011, God, in His goodness, brought the gift of love again through his wife, Cynthia Davis. For the past 14 years, Cynthia was not only his devoted wife but his rock, caregiver, and closest companion. Together, they embodied their favorite saying: "We're better together." Those words were not just something he spoke - they were a truth he and Cynthia lived out every day. Their marriage was a testimony of God's faithfulness, unity, and grace, showing all who knew them that love is strongest when it is shared. Cynthia lovingly stood by his side until the very end, carrying with her the legacy of the life they built together.
Ministry & Work
Throughout his life, Clarence was known for being a visionary entrepreneur, founding Heaven Bound Ministries – a marketplace ministry enterprise that operated two retail stores, promoted concerts, produced radio and television shows, and promoted a wellness brand. Clarence also had a heart for the underdog, designing wealth creation programs for the homeless community and the incarcerated. He also leaves a legacy of ministry involvement in his local churches, including Christ Gospel Church, Greater New Hope Apostolic Church, Without Walls International Church, and his current church home, Prevailing Faith Church.
Legacy & Loved Ones
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Davis II, and Florie Davis, and his first wife, Doreen Holmes Davis.
Clarence leaves behind a rich legacy of love. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Cynthia Davis of Chanute, Kansas; his daughters Dallas Ruffin and Cybil Garris;
grandchildren Timothea and Theresa Ruffin; sister Sharon Green; nieces and nephews Sharonda and Kerrie Green; along with his children and grandchildren by marriage - the Patterson, Beals, Owens, and Robertson families. He is also remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, church family, and friends who will deeply miss him.
Acknowledgment
The family extends heartfelt gratitude for the love, prayers, and support shown during this time.
Funeral services will be held on Friday October 10, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Mount Calvary COGIC Church 2422 Van Brunt Blvd. KCMO 64127. Private Disposition. Visitation: 11:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. at the Church. Arrangements entrusted to Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapels. Condolences may be shared on our website lawrenceajones.com
