Clarence Cornelius Fennell Jr. was born on July 14, 1989, to Mary Lou Pelham-Davis and Clarence C. Fennell Sr. in Ahoskie, North Carolina. He relocated to Paterson, New Jersey at an early age.
Clarence received his early education in the Paterson Public School System. He attended Public Schools # 6, # 15 and graduated from Eastside High School. His passion for learning led him to pursue higher education, earning his MBA from Strayer University.
Clarence dedicated over a decade of his professional life to the Paterson Public School System. During this time, he explored various career paths including medical assistant, phlebotomist, and more-always striving to grow and expand his knowledge. Later, he served as a substitute teacher with E.S.S., continuing his work in education.
Known for his vibrant spirit and magnetic personality, Clarence was truly the life of the party. His presence could light up any room, and you'd always hear him coming with his infectious laughter and joy. With his signature flair for decoration, table spreads, and ambiance, he could transform an ordinary cookout into an unforgettable celebration. Without his touch, a party just wasn't a party.
Clarence had a heart full of compassion. He loved children and never hesitated to lend a helping hand, always willing to give the shirt off of his back to anyone in need. He was generous, thoughtful, and he deeply cared about the well-being of others.
Family was everything to Clarence. He cherished both his immediate and extended family, always giving and donating essentials to those in need. On August 25, 2022, he adopted Avontai Chrissy Marie Fennell, who became the joy of his life. He loved her dearly; she was his everything.
Clarence was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother; Cora Mae Pelham-Maggette, grandfather; Andrew Fennell Sr. and his aunt; Deloris Riley.
His kindness and love will be remembered by his mother; Mary Lou Pelham-Davis (Raymond Davis) of Paterson, NJ, father; Clarence C. Fennell Sr. (Anne) of Boston, MA, paternal great grandmother; Willie (Blue-Eye) Powell, paternal grandmother; Cleatrice Fennell, 5 brothers; Ricky McCoy, Daquan Mitchell, Raymond Smith Jr, Marquise Corbin, and Christian Thompson, 12 sisters; Nancy Pelham, Deloris Pelham, Latia Fennell, Shamon Fennell, Jasmer Powell, Keisha McCoy, Tanita McCoy, Takeitha McCoy, Inesia Lee, Twasheema Smith, Sharonda Davis, Rasheeda Davis, extended family and close loved ones; Laquisha Foreman, whom he lovingly called his second mom, Essontasia Davis (sister), Rashone Clark (brother) and special close friends; Sha'heem Belton and Jennifer Manuel, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Clarence's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His warmth, generosity, and joyous spirit will never be forgotten. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Clarence, please visit our Tree Store.
