Clarence J. Kennedy, age 83 of Byesville, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023 at his home. He was born in Guernsey County on June 26, 1939, son of the late John Kennedy and Louisa (Gibson) Kennedy.
Mr. Kennedy served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a coal miner for Peabody Coal Company and Sands Mining. Clarence enjoyed fishing, going to stock car races and watching Ohio State sports with his wife. They also attended the Abundant Life Church in Cambridge.
Clarence is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janet K. (Cartner) Kennedy, they were married on June 24, 1972; his sons, Randall Lee Kennedy and Ron J. (Noel) Kennedy; his daughters, Cathy Kennedy and Michelle Barnett; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren; his siblings, Kathryn, Doris and Kenny; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by: his parents and a sister Mary Matthews
A memorial graveside service will be held at a later date at North Salem Community Cemetery with Military Graveside Honors. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Guernsey for their care and support and ask that memorial donations be sent to them at P. O. Box 1165 Cambridge, Ohio 43725.
