Clarence Roy Lingle was born to Clarence I. and Harmina Lingle (Zwart) on October 4, 1932, in Colman SD. The family lived in Moody County for a few years before moving to Lake County. Roy was raised on a farm and there began his love of farming. He walked to a country school for a number of years before attending General Beadle School and High School. It was there he met the love of his life Jeanene Lease. They were married at St. John Lutheran Church on February 10th, 1952. They often commented that they were the second couple to be married in the newly built church. Roy and Jeanene worked in Sioux Falls for a short time before things fell in place to begin farming. He farmed for many years and even helped his son combine when he was 90.
He is survived by his wife Jeanene of Madison, his daughter Jeryl Lingle of Madison, his daughter April Neiswonger (Keith) of Yerington, Nevada, and his son Bruce Lingle (Mary Lou) of Madison. Clarence is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother George (Kathy) of Pierre SD. He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence & Harmina Lingle and Jeanene's parents Norman and Ella Lease along with numerous cousins.
