Clarence "Pete" E. McDaniel Sr.
Clarence "Pete" E. McDaniel Sr., 69, of Crozet, passed away at his home on Saturday, December 12, 2009, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on October 21, 1940, in Charlottesville, to the late Carrie McDaniel Holsapple and the late Early Franklin Wines.
He retired from Sperry and worked at ACME for 23 years. He was a member of Mount Plains Baptist Church and was an avid NASCAR Fan and Elvis Presley Fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Kayla Ann Morris.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Shirley S. McDaniel; three sons, Clarence E. McDaniel "Early" Jr., Gregory McDaniel and his wife, Shelly, and Jeffrey McDaniel and his wife, Terry; one daughter, Patricia Huff and a very special son-in-law, Carlton "Yogie" Huff; two brothers, Tommy Thompson and his wife, Genie, and Steve Holsapple and his wife, Lisa; three sisters, Paula Holsapple, Ann Gayhart and Tessie Bishop; seven grandchildren, Donna, Carlton "Boo", Seth, Chris, Timmy, Brett and Ryan; six great-grandchildren, Molly, Shawn, Hunter, Cierra, Harmony and Eli.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. William Hammond and his staff, The Hospice of the Piedmont and to Bettina, Sara and Judy.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, December 14, 2009, at Teague Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at Teague Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens.
