Clarence Elisha Moore, age 74, of Altamont, Utah, passed away December 22, 2023 at his home surrounded by family and friends.
Clarence was born May 7, 1949 in Jeffersonville, Indiana to SFC Alvia W and Julia Ann Payton. Clarence married Claudia L Powell October 15, 1976 in Altamont, Utah and later solemnized on September 10, 1983 in the Jordan River Temple.
Clarence’s world revolved around his wife, children and grandchildren. He would do anything for them as he did being a truck driver for over 40 years. He made sure we had everything we needed. He made friends everywhere he went from coast to coast. He could talk the legs off a fence post or a stranger.
When he came home from being on the road he would always have a crazy story to tell us.
He is survived by his wife, Claudia; children, Julia (Richard) Roundtree of Upalco, Susan Moore of Roosevelt, Laura Moore of Lapoint, Steven (April) Moore of Spring Creek, Nevada, 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; sisters, Elaine Reed and Gail Hodges both of Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, SFC Alvia W and Julia Ann Payton, siblings, Carol Preston, Fred Moore, Linda Moore, Tony Moore, Ralph Payton and John Payton all of Indiana, father and mother-in-law, Arnold and Louise Powell, two grandsons, Payton and Weston Roundtree and great granddaughter, Oaklynn Schultz.
Funeral services will be Tuesday January 2, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Altamont Stake Center Altamont, Utah. Viewings will be held at the church on Monday January 1, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 and Tuesday from 10:00-10:45 am.
