Clarence E. Turk

Clarence E. Turk, 91, of Hanover, KS, died May 19, 2024, at Cambridge Place in Marysville.

The rosary service was held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 28 at St. John's Catholic Church in Hanover and the funeral mass followed at 11:00 a.m.  Father David Metz officiated.  Janet Fritschi played the organ while the church choir led the congregation singing “How Great Thou Art”, “I Am the Bread of Life” and “Song of St. Frances.”

The pallbearers were Joe Hoover, Dave Turk, Steve Hoover, Justin Hoover, Jay Hynek and Jeff Hynek.

Burial was in St. John's Catholic Cemetery.

Clarence was born on September 17, 1932, at Hanover, KS, to George and Anna (Weiler) Turk.  He attended Hanover Public High School, but before he could graduate, he began working on the farm. 

He joined the Army and served in the Korean War from February 1952 until December 1954.  Until retirement, Clarence farmed for 45 years.

Clarence was a lifetime member of the Hanover American Legion Post #306.  He was also a lifetime member of the National Farmers Union.

He was able to make many memories throughout his life and enjoyed getting together with his family as often as possible.  Clarence had a love for helping anyone out that he could.  He was also a huge fan of K-State sports and enjoyed watching WWE on the television.

Preceding him in death by his parents; and siblings, George Turk, Jr., Harold Turk and Leola Hoover.

Survivors include many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Marilynne Ohlde and family.

The family wishes to thank those involved with Uncle Clarence’s care.  Dr. Shane Thoreson, for his unwavering attentiveness.  The Cambridge staff; especially Shandy, Pam, and care team who provided comfort.  The Meadowlark Hospice nurses; especially Shelly, Sherry, and staff who gave support and guidance for Clarence and his family.
