Clarice Marie Gaalswyk, age 91, of Staples, MN, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025. Born to Martin and Clara (Thorsett) Granby in Byron Township, MN, Clarice lived a life full of love, faith, and service to others.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday February 14, 2025, at 11:00AM at Motley Free Methodist Church with Pastor Jim Johnson officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to the start of the service. Burial will be at Poplar Cemetery in Leader, MN.
Clarice worked for many years as a Nurses Aide and in Housekeeping at Lakewood Care Center, where she became a cherished member of the community. She was known for her gentle spirit, her caring nature, and her dedication to others.
A devoted member of her church, Clarice found joy and comfort in her faith. She enjoyed spending time doing puzzles, word searches, and reading the Bible, always finding peace in the small things.
She is survived by her son, Scott; sisters Thea Hansen and Phyllis Granby; grandchildren; nieces; and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Sidney, brothers Andrew, Marvin, and Joseph Sr., and her sister Esther Jordahl.
Clarice will be remembered for her kindness, her unwavering faith, and the love she shared with everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Staples.
