Clarinda Rita Iron Bear-Lame, age 67, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, made her journey into the spirit world on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by love. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 26, 2025, at the Scottsbluff YMCA Trails West Camp Retreat Center in Scottsbluff. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. A two-night wake service will be held beginning at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 24th through service time on Friday morning.
Clarinda was born in Crawford, Nebraska, to Lincoln and Hazel (Marshall) Iron Bear on August 13, 1958. The family relocated to Scottsbluff during her younger years, where she lived the rest of her life. Clarinda attended Scottsbluff Public Schools and finished her education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, graduating in 1975.
Clarinda returned home to Scottsbluff, where she began her 35-year career in healthcare, which served her well, considering her passion was caring for people. Clarinda is described by many as being the person they went to for help, guidance, and direction. She was the glue that kept everyone together. In her early twenties, she met her lifetime partner, Richard Lynn Lame, whom she married on February 28, 2004.
Clarinda was a humble person, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She often donated her spare time to cooking meals at various locations for her community. In her free time, Clarinda enjoyed cooking, family time, and her absolute favorite, bingo nights with the gals!
She is survived by her spouse, Richard Lame of Scottsbluff; sister, Kimberly Iron Bear of Tulsa, OK and her adopted son, Xayden Iron Bear of Scottsbluff; children and grandchildren, Deanna Garcia (Anthony, Janea, and Adriana Iron Bear) of Scottsbluff, Elgie and Lolita Iron Bear (DiAndre, Alicia, Emilio, and Gabriela Esparza) of Lincoln, NE, Robert Iron Bear (Robert JR.) of Lincoln, NE, David Iron Bear (Kylie and Xayden Iron Bear) of Pine Ridge, SD, Hazel Iron Bear of Scottsbluff, Isaac Iron Bear (Wakiyan New and Desmend Enriquez) of Lincoln, NE; nieces and nephews, Marquita Iron Bear (Jasmyne, Antonio, Isabelle, Cecilia, and Silas) of Lincoln, NE, Carlos Iron Bear SR.
