Akwesasne: Clark E. Lazore Sr., 88, of State Route 37, passed away on July 6, 2025 at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Clark was born on February 17, 1937 in Hogansburg, NY, the son of the late Albert and Margaret (Tarbell) Lazore. He attended Mohawk Schools and later married Ilona Brown on April 12, 1958. The marriage later ended in divorce.
Clark worked as a janitor at Jefferson School, and later as a security guard at the Council House for SRMT. He then worked at the St. Lawrence Seaway and finally retired from the Ironworker Local 440. Clark was an Usher at Hogansburg Methodist Church and enjoyed being outside, especially taking care of and mowing his lawn. He also liked planting flowers, playing cards and spending time at the Senior Citizens building.
Clark is survived by his children, Brenda (Jody) Pembleton of Ontario, Ramona Pembleton of Lockport, NY, Gloria Lazore, Clark Lazore Jr. (Theresa), Kenny Lazore and Rene Lazore, all of Buffalo; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his sisters, his twin Clara King; Pearl "Sis", Mary and Delores Herne; his brothers, John Cook, Donald "Muzzy" Cook, William Cook and Henry Lazore, Harvey Cook.
Friends and family are invited to call on Wednesday and Thursday from 12:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the Donaldson Funeral Home in Massena. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at the Hogansburg Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Hogansburg Methodist Cemetery.
