WEST PARISHVILLE – Larry F. Charleson, 66, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Canton-Potsdam Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Larry was born January14, 1959 in Potsdam, the son of the late Raymond and Betty (Foster) Charleson and was a graduate of Parishville-Hopkinton Central School. On September 4, 1982, he married Margaret A. Baxter at Potsdam United Methodist Church.
Larry worked in construction all his life, first working with Hugh Shickel for many years before going to Fiacco and Riley Construction. Larry had a great passion and knowledge for working with concrete and building bridges. Larry also had a great love for coin collecting, playing lotto, scratch off tickets, and visits to the casino. He also enjoyed hunting, driving in demotion derbies, his hobby farm, and cherished his time with his grandchildren.
Larry is survived by his wife, Margaret; his sons, Travis Charleson of West Parishville and twins, Michael Charleson of Madrid and Hunter (Avery) Charleson of Parishville; his grandchildren, Madison and Jack Charleson; his siblings, Sally Charleson (Roger Law), Penny (Jerry) Thomas, Betsy (Robert) Robar, Pamela Charleson, and Randy Charleson; his half siblings, Belinda (John) LaBrake, Reatha (William) Bouchey, Donna Lee Severance, and Raymond (Julie) Charleson; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held Friday, July 25, 2025 at 12:00 PM in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Parishville. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2025 beginning at Noon at the Parishville AMVETS Banquet Hall.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may consider memorial contributions to be made in his memory to the Parishville Fire Department or the American Cancer Society.
