Clark Lewis Moots, 66, of Grass Valley, California, passed away on January 7, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, curiosity, and a smile that could light up a room.

Born with a natural aptitude for how things worked, Clark dedicated his professional life to serving as an Administrative Director for Placer County. While he was a pillar of organization and leadership in his career, his true passions flourished in the quiet moments of life. He was a lifelong enthusiast of technology and a gifted creative writer, always finding new ways to express his unique perspective on the world.

Those who knew Clark best will remember him as a man who could fix anything and everything. Whether he was hiking through the beauty of Northern California or meticulously organizing a project, he found peace in nature and had a special soft spot for "little critters."

Above all, Clark was a family man. He shared nearly 45 years of marriage with his devoted wife, Toni Ellen Blas Moots. He was a source of constant love and support for his daughters, Erin Elizabeth Moots Fischetti and Amanda Teresa Moots Killian, and he cherished his role as a grandfather to Kenzie Belle Killian. He is also survived by his loving sister, Constance Dykes Cole, who cared for him as a child and loved him dearly throughout his life.

Clark will be remembered for his quirky sense of humor and a signature, caring smile-a smile so distinct and warm that it lives on through his daughters. He walked through life with a gentle spirit.

Family and friends are invited to honor Clark's life on February 20, 2026, at Lassila Funeral Chapel in Auburn, California. The memorial service will begin at 1:00 PM, with a reception to follow, where guests can share stories and celebrate the wonderful man he was.
