Claude O. Bowman Sr.

Dearest friends and family,
It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of my grandfather, Claude Bowman Sr.'s, passing. He passed away peacefully in his sleep this morning at the age of 91. While grief fills our hearts, we also find comfort in celebrating the extraordinary life he lived and the profound impact he had on all who knew him.
Born on July 2, 1934, in North Carolina to Archie and Cora Bowman, Claude was one of several siblings, including Worne, Thomas, Shirley Lawson, Virginia Stevens, and Thelma Bryant. His early life instilled in him a strength and resilience that would define his character. Following his honorable service in the Korean War, he moved to New Jersey, where he met and married the love of his life, our Grandmother Phyllis, on December 24, 1957. Their 55-year marriage was a testament to unwavering commitment and enduring love. Phyllis predeceased him in 2012.
Grandpa Claude leaves behind a legacy of love that extends to his son, Claude Bowman Jr.; daughter-in-law, Julia Bowman; granddaughter, Amanda Bowman; grandson, Christopher Bowman; granddaughter-in-law, Maria Bowman; and great-grandchildren Mia, Mya Bowman, and a precious baby girl soon to arrive. He was a man of quiet strength, unwavering integrity, and boundless generosity. His dedication to his family was absolute, and his willingness to help others knew no bounds. He worked tirelessly, contributing to his community through his time at Burry Biscuits in Elizabeth and White Rose in Roselle, New Jersey, and countless acts of kindness.
His final hours were a profound blessing. We were all fortunate to be with him, to share our love and receive his love and acknowledgment in return. These cherished memories will forever remain etched in our hearts.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no formal memorial service or funeral. However, we invite you to join us in celebrating his life by sharing your cherished memories and stories. Let us honor his memory by carrying forward his spirit of kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to family.
Grandpa, your memory will forever be a guiding light, a testament to a well-lived life. Thank you for everything. We will always love you.
