Claude T. Boyd, Jr., 62, of Rock Island, Illinois, passed away Monday, August 19, 2024, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island. 

Visitation is Thursday, August 22, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., in the Horizon Room at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. 

Claude T. Boyd, Jr. was born on September 15, 1961, in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of Claude T. and Shirley A. (Harris) Boyd, Sr. 

He loved watching western movies. He was known for his passionate enthusiasm for sports, particularly wrestling. He embraced every moment spent with his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.

Claude is survived by his mother, Shirley A. Boyd of Memphis, Tennessee; siblings, Ronald A. Boyd of Oakland, Tennessee and Kimberly A. Boyd-Sims of Memphis, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Regina Boyd of Memphis Tennessee; fiancé, Althea Redd of Rock Island, Illinois; stepchildren, Andrea Lidell, Quinton Lidell, Cornellis Lidell, and Ontario Randle; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends; including special nieces and a nephew, Andrea Burton, Courtney Boyd, Asia Boyd, and Jaylah Sims; and special friends, Cammy Grant and Johnny “Godfather” Readus. He was preceded in death by his father, Claude T. Boyd, Sr.; brother, Harold T. Boyd; special niece, Jazmeen Boyd; and sister-in-law, Beverly Boyd. 

Claude’s spirit was as vibrant as a winning touchdown, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be remembered for his infectious enthusiasm, his deep love for his family, and his unwavering support of his favorite teams.
