Claude "Frank" William Doughty, 71, passed away at home, Friday afternoon, December 22, 2023, with his loving family by his side.
Born February 13, 1952, in Indianapolis, IN, he was the son of the late Hubert Doughty and Norma (Worthington) Butler
On December 27, 1980, in Star City, Frank was married to Patty Jo (Shidler) Doughty, who survives.
Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country in the 82nd Airborne Division during the Vietnam War era.
Skilled in the trade of carpentry and, Frank was very proud of the things he built and the projects he worked on over the course of his career. For twenty years, he had worked as a machinist at Whallon Machinery Inc.
A loving husband, father and grandpa, Frank was priority was putting his family first. His hobbies included fishing and camping, but Frank's favorite activity was flying remote-controlled airplanes.
Surviving with his wife of nearly 43 years Patty Jo, are five children, Frank William Doughty, Billy Paul Doughty, Holly Lewellen, Heather Anne Doughty, and Heidi Jo Doughty; six siblings, Rose Owens, Hubert (Pam) Doughty, Chuck Doughty, Billy Butler, Jeanette Melbourne, and Karen Butler; eight grandchildren, Nolan, Sahara, Harlee, Marcus, Harmony, Arienna, Jaxon, and Linkon; and one great-grandchild on-the-way. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, William Butler, and brother, Roger Butler.

A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday, December 30, 2023, in Fisher Funeral Chapel.
Following the visitation, the Cass County Honor Guard will present military honors at 1 p.m. in the funeral chapel. A funeral service celebrating Frank's life will then take place with Howard Wildermuth officiating.
