Claude Elmer Florey, Jr., 89 of Midland, passed away surrounded by family at MediLodge of Midland on September 4, 2024. He was born to the late Claude Elmer Florey, Sr. and Estella Mae (Sharratt) Florey in Bisbee, North Dakota. Claude married the love of his life Jeaneen Dawn Hendrickson on November 10, 1956 in Waukon, IA and they shared sixty-one loving years together till she preceded him in death on January 24, 2017.
Claude was employed as a carpenter at Three Rivers Corporation until he retired on February 3, 1997. He enjoyed carpentry, golfing, camping, bicycling, walking, playing cards and spending time with friends at the Sanford Senior Center. Claude proudly served his country, first as a National Guardsman then he enlisted with the United States Army to serve in the Korean War.
Claude is survived by his children Victor (Jennifer) Florey of Rodney, MI; Brian (Renea) Florey of Midland; Kimberly (Ronald) Oswald of Midland; and Tracy (Carrie) Florey of Midland. Grandchildren: Nicole, Scott (Kaylyn), Ben (Jennifer), Daniel, Sam, Nate (Yuraylis), Doug (Kosha), Kaylynn (Kenny), Chloe and Lucas. He also leaves behind 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his wife Jeaneen Dawn Florey; siblings William Florey, Donald Florey and Rosellen Render.
Per his wishes a private graveside service with full military honors took place at Midland Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Heartland Hospice, Sanford Senior Center or MediLodge of Midland.
