Claude Lewis Otahal, 68, passed away on October 25, 2025. He was born on January 21,1957, in Robstown,Texas, where the Otahal family welcomed him into a life shaped by open fields, hard work, and the simplicity of country living. He was raised among farmland and the quiet strength of rural life. Claude attended Banquete High School and later built his life from the same soil he walked as a boy, remaining close to the land and community that shaped him.
Claude picked up farming from his father, and what began as a family trade soon became the heart of who he was. As a lifelong farmer, he held deep respect for the land and the satisfaction of hard work done with care, which he instilled in both of his children. Later in life, his son Charlie joined him in the fields continuing the family tradition. Claude enjoyed fishing, traveling, admired antique guns and looked forward to cheering on the Astros.
Claude is preceded in death by his father Charles Timothy Otahal, and brother-in-law Roger Willhite.
He is survived by his mother Leonita Otahal, his son Charlie and wife Amanda, his daughter Claudia and husband Bubba. Claude was a deeply proud grandfather to Addison, Oliver, Connor, Bennett, and Makenzie.
He is also survived by his siblings: Rita Willhite, Sidney (Kathy) Otahal, Sharon Millican, Ben (Gaye) Otahal, and Eleanor (Doug) Liberty, as well as multiple nieces and nephews and extended family.
We invite all who knew and loved him to join us at Sawyer-George Funeral Home on November 15th, 2025. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM and Memorial Service from 11:00-12:00 AM.
