Claude Oliver Vaughn Jr. of Little Elm, Texas left this world unexpectedly on October 20th, 2024. Claude was born on June 29th, 1967 in Booker, Texas to Phyllis Spurgeon Miears and Claude Vaughn Sr.
Claude lived in many places and attended a lot of different schools. He lived part of his life in Alaska with his Dad, Don Gann.
Claude met Liz in 1986. They married on October 26, 1991. They traveled the US together working for a telecommunications company before having children. They had their first born son Cory in Plano, Tx in 1994. They moved to Kenosha, Wisconsin with his job where they had their second child, Brandon. They got transferred back to Texas with work and they had their daughter , Claudia in Plano, Tx.
Claude was a Project Manager at Ericsson. He always thrived on providing for his family. His leadership, integrity and hard work carried him throughout his work, created friendships that lasted a lifetime.
Shortly after, about four years the family transferred to Georgia with Claude’s job. Our lives completely changed after a ATV accident in 2002 that left Claude a Quadriplegic, paralyzed as a C5/C6.
Although a new life was created, watching him in this position was nothing short of God’s goodness. God chose him to be in his position for a reason.
Claude and Liz traveled to Portugal in 2004 for a experimental surgery with his own stem cells.
He did another research project in Louisville, Kentucky in 2019. He met a lot of wonderful friends and really enjoyed his time being there.
Claude was very goofy, charismatic and a true follower of Christ. We find peace and joy knowing that this is not goodbye, but see you later.
He is survived by his wife of many years, Liz Vaughn; his children, Cory Vaughn, Brandon Vaughn and Claudia Vaughn; granddaughter, Oakleigh Vaughn; mother, Phyllis Spurgeon Miears; brother, Bobby Gann, many nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles; cousins; sisters; and his stepmom.
