Letha Jean Cassan, born July 31, 1931, in Sweetwater, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, in Arlington, Texas.
Jean was the daughter of Lawrence and Gladys Hunt and grew up with her brothers, Glen and Larry. At a young age she married Lester Clemmer and they had four children. She later married Wayne “Butch” Cassan—affectionately known as "Pop"—and together they navigated a journey of love, family, and faith.
Jean is remembered by her children: Susan Clemmer of Dallas, Karin Jones of Garland, Barton Clemmer and Sherri Clemmer of Grand Prairie. She is preceded in death by Lester Clemmer, Wayne Cassan and her late husband Jim Odell along with her son, David Clemmer, and cherished grandson, Bryce Clemmer. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Laurin Jones-Schaffner, Melanie Benjamin, and Devin Clemmer, as well as seven great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to her heart.
Jean lived a vibrant and spirited life. Whether dancing, traveling, or painting colorful strokes on a canvas, she loved beauty in all its forms. Her home was always a reflection of her creativity.
She served as a switchboard operator early in life and later dedicated herself to her faith. She was an active member of Pantego Bible Church and later Denton Bible Church. Her love of scripture drew her to participate in Bible Study Fellowship. Her strength and enduring faith were evident in the way she encouraged others.
Though her absence leaves us grieving, we take comfort in knowing that she is with her Lord and Savior, reunited with all of her loved ones who went before her. Her legacy will continue in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
