Claudette Mihojevich Quigley, born October 8, 1930, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on May 23, 2025 at the age of 94. Claudette was a lifelong resident of Biloxi and was raised on “The Point” as a proud member of the Croatian community.
She graduated from Sacred Heart High School as Valedictorian of the Class of 1948. She attended Loyola University in New Orleans and graduated in1952 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology. Claudette used that degree to achieve a career as a lab technician at the Keesler AFB Medical Center. During her time there, she was chosen as the Career Woman of the Year for Keesler AFB for 1982 by the Biloxi Business and Professional Women Association. She retired from her Civil Service position in 1986.
Claudette was an active member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. She served the church in numerous capacities, to include Eucharistic Minister at mass and to the sick, church choir, mass reader, and assisting with office functions. She was very proud of her Croatian heritage and was a long-time member of the Slavic Ladies Auxiliary of the Slavic Benevolent Association. During her membership with the SLA, she served as President, Vice-president, and Treasurer.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grand mother and will be missed by all that knew her. Claudette was selected as the Lion’s Club Mother of the Year in 2006.
Claudette was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony "Tony" and Angelina Mihojevich; her sister, Stephanie Mihojevich Pizzetta; and daughter, Deborah Quigley Norris. She is survived by her five children, Keith Quigley (Jimmie), Lori Clements (Robert Martinez), Gregory Quigley (Brenda), Marilyn Farris (Keith) and Laughlin Quigley (Kathryn); her nine grand-children; and by her seven great grand-children.
The family would like to thank Connie Reece, Deaconess Hospice nurses Kimberly and May, and Treasured Gems Home Care nurse Diquesha (Peaches) Harrien for the loving care they all provided.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Biloxi with interment to follow at Southern Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 10:00.
